White privilege
Lumping all members of an ethnic group together is usually called racism. In fact there, are nearly twice as many whites in poverty as there are black of all classes, and the growing pseudo-hip tendency to lump all whites together is a major reason the white vote isn't behaving the way it did, say, in the Great Society. The best rule of thumb is to condemn the big bad guys, but convert the little guys.

Great point, Sam, but identity politics is all the sorta-left has right now. Shift the narrative from groups competing for greater victimhood, to more solidarity across the aggrieved body politic, and the Democratic Party will limp into rehab mumbling McCarthyite curses.
"there, are nearly twice as many whites in poverty as there are black"
For the record, poverty accompanies racial discrimination but poverty itself does not equate to racism. Racism is something else altogether and is a detriment to blacks of all classes. (Another good measure of racism, for example is judicial injustice). Good luck, white people, in the denial of white privilege and the dumping of the term in 2018.
So upper class black people suffer the scourge of racism and poor whites have privilege? Do you claim to speak for all black people? How about all 'people of color'? That seems pretty pompous either way.
We both know there are plenty of conservative black folks at the dinner table during every holiday meal (just like white people) and they roll their eyes at you know-it-alls. You know the married ones with the nice house and decent lifestyles getting on pretty well? Do you speak for them? Or how about all the recent immigrants who won't touch this social justice rhetoric with a ten foot pole?
Good luck? You're supposed to use "/s" to denote sarcasm now.
thats not sarcasm you poor long suffering white guy. i dont know how you guys bear it.
Hey White People: We’ve Got to Stop Claiming We’re Not Racist

to quote from the linked article.
"It’s a fact that each of us supports White Supremacy as a matter of course through everyday choices we make. Because it is the reigning philosophy of the US, we are supportive of White Supremacy whenever we are passive about it. We must also remember that our ability to ignore it is itself a privilege conferred by our Whiteness."
ironic isnt it? denial of white privilege is itself a white privilege.
