I guess this list doesn't look at affordable housing. Portland Or. is having a serious housing crisis. There is a less than 2% vacancy rate for rentals. Evictions and high rent inflation have become epidemic. Landlords are either raising rents by up to 50% with a 30 days notice, or are issuing 30 day no cause evictions so they can slap a coat of paint on the unit and charge double the previous rent. People are living in houses where every available nook and cranny has someone paying rent, so a 3 bedroom house may have 8 people living in it. This isn't just for cheap rent, it is also because finding anyplace to rent is nearly impossible. Portland has few places to rent, even if you have the money, and rent control is illegal by state law.
