MSNBC - The announcement of a new government website where Americans can buy prescription drugs left a number of questions unanswered. A White House fact sheet specified savings for three drugs made by Pfizer, but the costs still remain too high for many Americans, writes health care policy professor Miranda Yaver. One of the drugs, which treats autoimmune disorders, would drop from a list price of $6,000 to $3,600. But most insured patients would already pay less than the list price, while that would be too high for the uninsured, and it wouldn't count toward their annual deductibles, which could mean more spending.
