A landslide
triggered a 650-foot mega-tsunami in Greenland that caused the Earth to
shake for nine days last year. Scientists finally know why but say it
offers an alarming insight into the future.
Texas had the largest portion of greenhouse gas emissions: more than 873 million metric tons, or 13.8% of total emissions. For context, Texas comprised 8.9% of the nation’s population in 2021. California (6.2% of US emissions), Florida (4.3%), Pennsylvania (4.2%), and Ohio (3.7%) rounded out the top five for 2021, accounting for 32.2% of total emissions.
