Gaza update

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed his deep regret about the strikes resuming in Gaza, calling it a "war on children." US Secretary of State Antony Blinken separately said Israel needs to make further efforts to protect civilians in Gaza as Israel resumes its military campaign.

Israel Knew of Hamas’ Devastating Attack Plan More Than a Year Ago

Israel and Hamas resumed hostilities in Gaza early today, shortly after the collapse of a cease-fire deal. The agreement allowed the release of more than 100 hostages seized by Hamas militants and hundreds of Palestinians from Israeli jails. Both sides blame each other for the breakdown in talks. The Gaza health ministry said that more than 30 Palestinians had been killed in the opening hours of renewed conflict, including children...  U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken urged Israel to announce specific safe zones in Gaza during a visit to the country. Israel did so with a very complicated interactive online numbered map and the Israeli army hasn't said if it's actually used the map to warn residents.
