Trump update

A New York appellate court has reinstated a gag order prohibiting former President Donald Trump from making public statements about court staff in the ongoing civil fraud trial. Judge Arthur Engoron had originally issued the order barring Trump from making public statements about the court staff after numerous comments about his clerk, who Trump says is biased against him. Hundreds of threats against Engoron and a law clerk were made public last week. Engoron’s clerk has received 20-30 calls per day to her personal cell phone and 30-50 messages daily on social media platforms and two personal email addresses, according to court papers.

A court-ordered financial auditor has caught Donald Trump quietly moving $40 million from the Trump Organization into a personal bank account—seemingly so the former president could pay his whopping $29 million tax bill.Trump isn’t supposed to be moving any money around without alerting Barbara S. Jones, a former federal judge in New York tasked with babysitting the Trump Organization for its relentlessly shady business practices. But on Wednesday, she notified a New York state court about some major bank transfers that were never brought to her attention by the Trumps.

Much has been made in recent months of President Joe Biden’s age—and whether or not he is too old to carry out a full second term if he were to win again in 2024. But no one seems to be talking about Donald Trump, who is roughly the same age and has also strung together a series of embarrassing gaffes that should land him at the center of the very same discussion.
That’s according to The New Abnormal hosts Danielle Moodie and Andy Levy, who unpack the wacky explanations Republicans are making to remain in denial about Trump’s obvious “cognitive decline”—including the idea that he’s making his mistakes on purpose. “[Trump] gets names wrong all the time, he gets historical facts wrong all the time—and they’re not small things,” Levy said. “What we tend to do is when Joe Biden says something, everyone pounces. But when Donald Trump does it, we shrug it off and say, ‘Oh, that’s just Trump.’ Or, ‘he’s kidding.’” “The media needs to start focusing on Trump’s cognitive skills with every bit of concentration that it does on Joe Biden’s cognitive skills, because they’re simply not,” Levy added
