Electric service

Newsweek -  Hundreds of thousands of people have been left without electricity after extensive power outages in the Northeast. As of 4 a.m. ET on Thursday, more than 300,000 people were estimated to be without power as harsh weather conditions continued to damage electricity infrastructure in the Northeastern states.

Pennsylvania was hit hardest by the outages, with over 115,000 people affected. New Jersey saw similarly high numbers, with almost 81,000 people not being able to access electricity. Connecticut and New York both have outages affecting over 40,000 people each, while Rhode Island's outages have impacted almost 27,000 residents.  There are also outages affecting about 40,000 people across the Midwest, primarily in Michigan and Indiana.
