ICE hires more agents

Newsweek -  The Department of Homeland Security announced on Saturday that Immigration and Customs Enforcement has hired more than 12,000 new agents.

The administration has launched an aggressive nationwide push to recruit thousands of new ICE agents, framing the effort as a fulfillment of President Donald Trump's 2024 campaign promise to deport millions of undocumented immigrants and bolster national security.

According to DHS, ICE has received more than 220,000 applications from prospective recruits, surpassing the agency's original goal of hiring 10,000 new officers and agents within a year and expanding the workforce to about 22,000....

Meanwhile, DHS has removed the age cap for new applicants, allowing individuals as young as 18 to apply. Previously, applicants had to be between 21 and 37 or 40 years old, depending on the position.
