Adelita Grijalva - Last month, voters overwhelmingly rejected the MAGA agenda and chose me to represent them in Congress in Arizona’s 7th District special election. With so much at stake, I came to Washington ready to get to work.
But instead of swearing me in, Speaker Mike Johnson cancelled session and sent members home — not only delaying my ability to take office, but also allowing the government to shut down without even letting the House work toward a solution.
That’s how far Republicans are willing to go to block me from serving. Republicans know that once I’m sworn in, it won’t just chip away at their razor‑thin majority — I will become the decisive 218th signature to force a vote on releasing the Epstein files.
This is nothing more than a desperate power play to protect Trump while denying the people of my district a voice in Congress when it’s needed the most.
