NPR - Overall divorce rates are down except for one key demographic: people over 50. This phenomenon is called gray divorce. As we get older, it's common to hear about how much harder it is to make friends or build new relationships. But Gen Xers spent most of their adulthood living in a society where divorce is viewed as more acceptable and less stigmatized. That's one reason why they're open to starting new chapters.
