Trump and courts

EcoWatch -  In a huge win for environmental advocates, a federal judge on Monday ruled that the Trump administration must restore $176 million in grants to six cities and 13 nonprofits across the United States.  The decision by U.S. District Court Judge Richard Gergel in Charleston, South Carolina, is one of the first permanent injunctions challenging an administration that has frozen funding, dismantled agencies and fired federal employees, Southern Environmental Law Center (SELC) said in a press release.

NBC News - A federal judge blocked the Trump administration from dismantling the Education Department in a case brought by several school districts and employee unions. The decision halts the implementation of Trump’s executive order to carry out a reduction-in-force and transfer federal student loan management and special education functions outside the department.

A federal judge said the Trump administration “unquestionably” violated a previous court order when a deportation flight left Texas reportedly intended for South Sudan
