Oscars

 

A stacked column chart showing the share of Oscars won, by studio type, from 2017 to 2025. In 2017, major studios won the majority of awards at 58%, while big tech and indie studios received about 20% each. Indies have won a bigger share of awards in recent years. In 2025, they took home 57% of awards handed out, while major studios won just 22% and big tech won 13%.

Axios - Indie movie studios dominated the Oscars on Sunday, with Neon's "Anora" taking home five trophies, including Best Picture, and A24's "The Brutalist" winning three.
