Global tech outage

NBC News -A routine software error caused a global tech outage yesterday that caused suspended service at airlines, hospitals, banks, retailers, DMV offices and much more. The company behind the error is cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike, which said in an update last night that an update on one of its platforms “triggered a logic error” and led to computer crashes. The outage resulted in thousands of canceled flights, leaving travelers worldwide stranded and frustrated. At hospitals, staffers were unable to access some patients’ medical records, and facilities were forced to cancel surgeries and appointments. Even Starbucks was affected. CrowdStrike said the issue was resolved Friday, but the fallout from the glitch is expected to play out over the weekend.
