EcoWatch - The global average temperature for the period June 2023 to May 2024 — 12 consecutive months — was 1.63 degrees Celsius above the pre-industrial average, making it the hottest on record, according to new data from the Copernicus Climate Change Service. It was also the longest stretch above the 1.5-degree threshold of the Paris Agreement.
