Newsweek - Officials have asked drivers to avoid using their cars due to air quality alerts in eight states across the country. The alerts shared to the National Weather Service website on Friday urged residents of the following states to drive less to help lower pollution levels: California, Colorado, Missouri, Alabama, Arizona, Michigan, Texas and Oklahoma... The air quality alerts, and associated recommendations about driving activity, do not apply to the entire state of those listed. Specific areas in the states with potentially dangerous levels of pollutants are targeted instead.
