Trump

Political Wire Shares of Trump Media & Technology Group dropped more than 13% on Tuesday, continuing the stock’s tumble following the conviction of Donald Trump, the company’s majority shareholder, CNBC reports.  Trump Media shares, which trade under the ticker “DJT,” are down about 40% since May 30, when a New York jury found Trump guilty of 34 felony counts of falsifying business records.

New Republic -  Donald Trump is taking aim at business leaders, saying they should be fired if they don’t support him. In two long Truth Social posts on Tuesday quoting a Wall Street Journal article, Trump said “Business Executives and Shareholder Representatives should be 100% behind Donald Trump! Anybody that’s not should be FIRED for incompetence!”

Yahoo -  The Vermont Republican Party is prohibited from backing a candidate with a felony conviction, according to the party’s publicly posted rules. That is now a bit of a problem, since the presumptive Republican presidential nominee was recently convicted on 34 felony counts. “The state committee will not support or promote any candidate for elective office who … is a convicted felon,” read the rules, which govern everything from party meetings to how delegates must vote at national conventions.

On social media, the party does technically appear to be following the rule — there are no mentions of Donald Trump on the Vermont GOP’s Twitter or Facebook pages in the days since the former president's historic guilty verdict in his hush money case — but the party's social media typically talks only about local candidates and presidential candidates who visit the state. The rule has been on the books since at least 2013, according to an archived version of the rules, but by early 2022, the party appears to have amended their rules. According to the Internet Archive, the posted rules were changed by March 2022 to allow the state committee to exempt a candidate from the rule by majority vote.

Guardian- The New York court of appeals, the highest court in the state, turned away Trump’s expedited appeal of the gag order Judge Juan Merchan put in place during his trial. In a brief order on Tuesday, the court said it was dismissing Trump’s appeal because “no substantial constitutional question is directly involved.” Trump has raged against the gag order, which prohibits him from attacking witnesses, jurors, court and prosecution staff and their families. He was fined $10,000 during the trial for violating it repeatedly.

Daily Beast -  The billionaire former owner of the Washington Commanders is blocking the release of a biopic of Donald Trump which portrays the former president as a rapist. Dan Snyder.... might be able to stop The Apprentice hitting screens thanks to a bizarre twist: He helped finance the movie.T he Apprentice portrays a young Trump and his relentless rise in New York where he is tutored and advised by the amoral attorney Roy Cohn. In the film Trump, played by Sebastian Stan, is shown appearing to rape his first wife Ivana—an allegation she made during their divorce and later disowned. It was shown at the Cannes film festival, where The Daily Beast’s critic Esther Zuckerman described Jeremy Strong’s portrayal of Cohn as Oscar-worthy.  But the fate of the movie lies in the hands of Snyder, who Trumpworld sources said is acting on his own initiative to stand in the way of its release.  to his The sources were “thrilled” at Snyder’s act of obeisance.
