A bookshop owner in Southampton, England had asked for help as he was moving his book shop due to high rent and wanted help to move the books to the new location. The person was surprised by the presence of more than 250 people coming to help. They formed a human chain where they took thousands of books and transferred them hand in hand from the old place to the new, a distance of 500 feet. The job was done in just an hour.
WJLA - Hundreds of people in Southeast, D.C. are sitting down for warm holiday meals at Busboys and Poets in Anacostia, free of charge. Owner Andy Shallal said he felt the need to give back and it was a story from a patron that changed his life. “He came up to me and he said, 'I just want you to know that today was the day I had planned to commit suicide and if it wasn’t for you being opened and me walking through this door completely by accident, I would not be here,”' said Shallal.
