Axios - Americans' views of the political system have reached new lows, according to a Pew survey that found near-record distrust of government and disgust with both parties. Four times as many Americans have unfavorable views of both parties today than in 2002 — an all-time high. Republicans and Democrats are equally unpopular.Trust in the government is near a 70-year low. Just 16% say they trust the federal government most of the time. 2 in 3 say they always or often feel "exhausted" when thinking about politics. The top two words they use to describe U.S. politics: "divisive" and "corrupt." Younger people are far more likely to be critical of both parties.
