Bullying in schools has shot up over the past five years, Axios' April Rubin writes from an annual survey by the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.... The number of students who said they were bullied on campus this year jumped 14 percentage points from 2019 — before COVID.

At Wednesday night’s GOP debate in Milwaukee, WI, not one of the eight candidates onstage raised their hand when asked if they believed that human behavior is contributing to climate change. On Thursday, the city’s schools were closed for the second day in a row because of record-breaking heat.  

Gallup’s latest Consumption Habits poll finds 4% of Americans saying they are vegetarian and 1% vegan, in terms of their eating preferences. These figures are similar to what Gallup has measured previously, including in 2012 and 2018.

Teacher vacancies grew by 35% last year, according to a new analysis of 37 states and Washington, D.C. Some districts have had to rely on underqualified or virtual teachers.
