Libraries in every state faced yet another year of unprecedented attempts to ban books.... The number of attempted book bans in 2022 nearly doubled from 2021 — hitting a 20-year record.

Starting in May, Virginia will begin the year-long purging of an estimated 400,000 residents from Medicaid rolls as pandemic-era protections unwind, sending people caught in a temporary safety net scrambling to find health care.

Millennials and Generation Z appear divided on whether workplaces should require gender pronouns in emails, according to polling commissioned by Newsweek. Around 60 percent of millennial respondents between 25 and 44 were in favor of the practice. By contrast, just 40 percent of Gen Z respondents aged between 18 and 24 supported the idea. Meanwhile, less than a third of respondents aged 45 or more agreed that workplaces should require gender pronouns in emails.
