Hundreds of anti-alternative sex measures pending in US

As of March 14, 2023, lawmakers across the country have proposed over 400 bills, including:

• 194 that restrict the rights of transgender students in schools (forcing teachers to out them, restricting bathroom access, sports bans, etc.)
• 113 that restrict access to gender-affirming care (outright bans, Medicaid restrictions, etc.) 
• 41 that restrict free speech and expression (drag censorship, statewide book ban policies, etc.) 
• 32 that aim to weaken existing civil rights laws (through religious exemptions mostly) 
• 14 that restrict the right of transgender people to accurate forms of ID 
• 52 that restrict LGBTQ rights but don’t quite fit into the above categories
