My name problems

Vivi Stenson Miller - Happy Happy birthday to my Uncle, Sam Smith- who never liked being called Uncle Sam, especially when he lived in Washington DC... when our kiddos were little, they tried to call him Uncle Sam and he stopped them and said, No, it's Just Plain Sam. He's been Just Plain Sam ever since.

Thanks Vivi for remembering this. The other name problem I had was that I was named for my grandfather and the name came from a cousin of my great grandfather, a guy named Sam Houston. My parents initially called me Houston which I didn’t like particularly and liked even less when one of my pre teen pals, Weld Henshaw, started calling me Huseless.That’s when I switched to Sam.
