A few things to do and think about in a time like this

• Don't put your ethnic and other identity issues ahead of ones you can share with folk who don't look or talk like you. This will gain support for your issues as well. 
• Evil comes from institutional power; good comes from the normally weak coming together to create community power.
  
• Don't trash folks who don't look or talk like you. You may need them for help on an issue you have in common. 
•  Get your public schools to include things like civics, ethics, and multiculturalism in their curricula.
• Bring local positive institutions - like churches, schools and activist groups - together to create common goals and tactics. 
• Encourage media to cover not only conventional power but community forces for positive change.
