How does it work that "plant-based food sales were three times higher than total food sales in 2021." It looks like they are suggesting that more "plant-based" food is being sold than the total of all food sold?!?
Are they counting "plant based" cosmetics and household products in that number against food? Or is their thinking fuzzy because they are getting inadequate nutrition as so many vegans do.
Sticking the words "plant-based" on a label is the new meaningless marketing buzz word to delude those who are not industrial food saavy.
I have noticed lately that many "food" products even ones that have been the same for decades, are plastering the term "plant-based" on their labels because it's the new fad. When I buy a product, I am not looking for "plant-based", but if a mustard I have used for years is suddenly labeled "plant-based" I am not buying it because it is "plant-based" I'm buying it despite the ugly stupid faddish label change.

Interesting... but weird.
