I guess "rebellion" for rebellion's sake may be a goal, but will these young people really be able to understand what is being talked about in some of these books.
Ok, maybe I was just 'slow. Or maybe these kids are extremely gifted (in a good way). I hadn't even heard of a 'banned-book list' until I was over twenty-one years old. And then, I only heard about one book - Johnny Got His Gun.
At the time, I was in the military during the Viet-Nam conflict. I read, understood, and (abstractly) felt what was written.
I had read Animal Farm in high school, but as a child it was nothing more than words on a page.
