The climate crisis has made the idea of a better future impossible to imagine

I disagree with his take that it is impossible to imagine a better future, that shows me people lack imagination and don't care to learn about all the workable solutions that currently exist to improve our situation. If we did that, it would help people avoid becoming paralyzed with fear to the point of inaction, which only makes matters worse. The IPCC has a lot of nerve dropping this alarming report without a follow up document that has examples of successful things people are doing, that can be done with simple tools, many hands, and good understanding of local conditions and how to build restorative systems. They have succeeded in making people think there is no hope, thanks guys.

We need indigenous land management. We need more regenerative agriculture and regenerative grazing. We need wetland restoration, restoration of mangrove forests, marshlands, and oyster reefs, to reduce storm surges, and native managed small fires and goat herders to remove undergrowth and to create low intensity fires in the summer instead of the firestorms that burn out whole western towns in minutes. The environmental restoration that needs doing to reduce carbon levels and restore the planet is immense, but starting the work now will give us more time to complete it, than sitting around moaning will.

Our biggest problem is inequalities of wealth and power that bar indigenous land management practices and environmental restoration practices for forests, grasslands, and wetlands, because it doesn't make a profit for a few oligarchs.
