Cannabis is far more easily transportable than liquor; if you live in a dorm that dorm usually has security in the lobby, and those rent-a-cops are on the lookout for weird "glunking" noises and bottle-like shapes in bookbags that are coming into the building. If you aren't stuck on campus and doing classes by teleconferencing instead, the herb stays in your room. It's a win-win for everybody.
