At some time we are going to have to face the truth. Even this nation was and continues to be built on bullshit. It was bullshit to fight a revolution for freedom, yet continue to import slaves. It was bullshit to base the economy of a fledgling country on slavery and indentured servitude instead of freeing everyone and counting on population growth. It was bullshit to fight a war for racial equality, then let the South impose Poll Taxes, Vagrancy Laws, Tenant Farming, Slavery through the prison labor lease system, and Jim Crow. It was bullshit to have a Civil Rights Movement a hundred years after the Civil Way, yet Michael Brown had to die in order for #blacklivesmatter to be a constant reminder that we have never been of one mind, and that humans love to hate.
