Fifty-five percent of voters between the ages of 18 and 34 supported
universal basic income as did 53 percent of respondents between 35 and
49. Voters older than 65 were overwhelmingly against the proposal
with only 21 percent supporting it. Only 38 percent of respondents
between the ages of 50 and 64 favored giving a monthly minimum income.

Perhaps because as we age some of us become aware of how income increases are automatically nullified by price increases in the goods we cannot do without, housing for renters being the principal one.
More likely that the oldies fear that the minimum wage increases will be paid by themselves to the younger workers. If we proposed Social Security benefits increases we might get the mirror image of this result.
