Pennsylvania to require students take history and civics test

The Hill - Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf (D) announced  that he will sign a bill requiring students in the state to take a test on civics.

The bill, which the Pennsylvania state House passed overwhelmingly on Wednesday, will require students in grades seven through 12 to take a test on U.S. history, government and civics, The Associated Press reported.

Students will not have to pass the test in order to graduate. However, those who earn a perfect score will qualify for a certificate from the state’s Education Department. Schools will be mandated to report how many students passed the test. T
