It's been a long time since I worked there, and I hardly ever eat this type food anymore, but this story is probably completely made up. I was actually very impressed by their myriad, very specific training videos and standards of cleanliness and customer service overall when I was employed at the golden arches supper club. My bosses were fair and mostly my co-workers were fun and responsible.

The customers were quite another story sometimes. We actually had men come thru the drive thru naked - more than once I was offered a hotel room key (puke) - and one guy always asked for french fries without salt (so we'd have to make them right then for him) - then he'd ask for a packet of salt. He drove an expensive convertible, wore fingerless leather gloves - he really thought he was sumpthin special. And then there were the many people who'd arrive on a bus, stand in lines 7 deep at every register waiting to order - and not have a clue what they wanted when they finally got their turn.

Seriously, we worked our fannies off, constantly cleaning and restocking when there were no customers at our register, our restaurant was a place I didn't hesitate to eat, we did our best to please the customer and we followed the company's strict guidelines on not serving food that had passed the (imo) actually very short shelf life. My biggest complaint was how much food we had to waste - when I asked why the unsold refrigerated salads at the end of the day couldn't be given to shelters or such I was told it was because company lawyers warned against that for fear of litigation if the product spoiled once out of the store.

I guess I worked in one of the better stores? Anyway, no billionaire works harder long term than fast food workers do. I'd love to have seen the rude dude in the flashy convertible clean a toilet or handle a bus rush just once.

Having worked in sales I know the public/customers can be assholes. But in fairness, the guy who wanted fries without salt then asked for packet of salt to go with, did so because he wanted them fresh out of the fryer rather than after they had been sitting for an unknown amount of time under a heat lamp.

There are now laws that protect people/businesses donating food, so Mickey's can now donate to soup kitchens and the like, thoguh i do not know if they do.
