I fired [General MacArthur] because he
wouldn't respect the authority of the President. That's the answer
to that. I didn't fire him because he was a dumb son of a bitch,
although he was, but that's not against the law for generals.

No one ever accused Harry S Truman of being eloquent, though there were those who rightly accused him of being dumb as a stump. His remark about generals in general however was right on the mark.
Anyone who chooses to make his living killing people, and risking his own life to do so, cannot be numbered among the brightest of bulbs.
Truman for President!....oh wait a minute. That's history. Any other Truman's out there!?
