French taxis went on a nationwide strike, snarling traffic in
major cities after weeks of rising and sometimes violent tensions over
Uber.
AFP reported
that cab drivers blocked access to three terminals at Charles de Gaulle
airport, Paris’s main transportation hub, and they were converging on
Orly airport and train stations in the city. French media reports also showed cabbies overturning cars and burning tires in protest.

What I'm finding most worrying about Uber, is how many young women are reporting sexual harassment and sexual assault by male drivers late at night.
cannot pull one over on those French, they know what's up and comprehend the implications down the line.
they know it for what it is, the undermining of stable & predictable employment, unions, as well as fair & regulated commerce.
should it be any surprise, then, to learn that Goldman Sachs is among the backing investors in Uber...?
