Economy in Crisis - If signed into law, President Obama’s TPP will not only override American laws, but it will allow corporations to sue the U.S. government for losses at taxpayer expense. Even more concerning is that it will infringe on U.S. sovereignty. The TPP will also include provisions that will dictate what Congress will be allowed to pass and enforce, particularly in areas like patents and copyrights. Government procurement such as Buy American would be banned.

We have the same problem facing us in Europe. If TTIP is passed, it will allow the United States and European corporations to accumulate even more power over its citizens. Exponents of this secret treaty issue periodic projections concerning how much the treaty will increase national GDP (and hence workers wages), but are at a loss to explain how these increases will be accomplished as the legal mechanisms incorporated within the treaty to date are secret! I understand that during the composition of the TTIP, (circa) 150 corporations have be consulted in yet again secret meetings. It should be noted that at least in Europe, no consultations have been held with citizens' groups. Why? If this treaty is so beneficial to the nations involved, then it stands to reason that the proceedings should and must be made public. I am in favour of international trade, but not at the cost of trampling national or individual rights.
Dear Sir
I posted a comment to your site today. Unfortunately, due to the ageing process and poor sight, I misread TPT for the European version, i.e. TTIP. My apologies for the error, although I suspect the post equally applies to TPT.
All the best
