Best and worst state tax systems

The worst

The Best

Washington state has feudalism waiting in the wings; a perennial $2bn budget deficit, which closely matches the state-level corporate welfare program.

Worse: in 2010, an inaugural 5% income tax on the top 5% of incomes was voted down via state referendum, 76-24. (A few days later, Idaho called and asked if someone could turn down the stupid.)

It is no coincidence that the Evergreen State hosts both Microsoft and Amazon.
