Climate

The Trump Administration is preparing to erase limits on climate pollution from coal- and gas-fired power plants — yet another gift to the fossil fuel industry at the expense of our health and our future.
In the statement from the EPA itself, this rule change will “save” the power plant industry over $300 billion in costs. And the price we pay? Well, it’s measured in more asthma, more pollution, and more power for the very industries that created this crisis in the first place.

Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt declared the entire city a disaster-affected zone after torrential rain swamped streets and neighborhoods. The order covers all 50 districts, expanding an earlier, smaller designation. The city said the step unlocks quicker action by government offices and local groups to protect lives and property. The move follows Thailand’s Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Act of 2007, which sets rules to respond to floods and similar events.
