NBC
News - Rhode Island Gov. Dan McKee has lost his Democratic primary to
former CVS executive Helena Foulkes, NBC News projects, after facing a
significant spending disadvantage and voter discontent with his tenure. In an election season that has seen a wave of
anti-incumbent energy, McKee becomes the first governor to fall in a primary
this year — and the first in eight years.
NY Times - The Supreme Court on Thursday once again prevented Missouri from using a congressional map in November that was redrawn to give Republicans an advantage in the midterm elections. It was the second time this week that the Supreme Court waded into a dizzying legal fight over Missouri’s congressional map, and it came just two months before a general election that could determine control of the House. The court’s brief order did not include any reasoning, as is often the case when the justices respond to emergency requests. There were no noted dissents.

Not only are we getting rid of McKee but in Providence we electerd a young dynamic progressive David Morales over the weak tool of the rich incumbent mayor and in Pawtucket the long term failed reign of Don Grebien was ended by Adam Greenman. We are celebrating in RI this week.
