NBC News - The U.S. labor market added 130,000 jobs in January, significantly more than the 55,000 additions that had been expected by economists.
But the new employment report arrived alongside critical revisions to last year's data, showing only 181,000 jobs were added in 2025. Initial data had showed the economy added 584,000 jobs.
