Federal judges disturbed by Trump's legal war

Newsweek -  Federal judges across the country are sounding alarms about an unprecedented surge of legal cases stemming from President Donald Trump's mass deportation campaign.

U.S. District Judge Clay Land in Georgia declared an "administrative judicial emergency" in a January 29 court order, citing the Trump administration's refusal to provide bond hearings to immigrants despite clear court rulings against mandatory detention. The administration scored a major legal victory Friday when a federal appeals court backed its detention-without-bond policy, marking a significant shift in the ongoing legal battle.

...The conflict between federal courts and the Trump administration represents a fundamental clash over immigration enforcement and judicial authority.  Under Trump's policy reversal, immigrants with no criminal record now face mandatory detention without bond hearings—a stark departure from past administrations.

The flood of habeas corpus petitions has overwhelmed federal courts nationwide, creating what multiple judges describe as an administrative crisis while raising questions about executive compliance with judicial orders.
