Polls

Wake Up -  The Pew Research Center ... released a new study with interesting findings, including:

ABC and NBC News—two of three traditional broadcast news networks—are the most trusted news sources in the USA—but only 56 percent of Americans trust them.  CBS News is not far behind at 51 percent.

Pew polled people about 30 news sources, among them the broadcast networks above, as well as cable networks, for-profit newspapers such as The New York Times (trusted by 42% of people) and Washington Post (33% trust), public news such as NPR (37% trust) and PBS (51% trust), and, weirdly, Joe Rogan (11%) and Tucker Carlson (5%). Somehow, the My Pillow Guy did not make the cut, and nor did Alex Jones.

Pew’s big headline from the research is that people who generally distrust the news have the highest trust in—wait for it—Fox News, Joe Rogan, PBS, and Newsmax.

Pew Research - Israelis have consistently had a more unfavorable than favorable opinion of the UN, but their opinions have soured even more since the start of the Israel-Hamas war in October 2023. This year, 80% of Israelis have an unfavorable opinion of the UN, while only 16% have a favorable view – the lowest share since at least 2007. United Nations seen favorably by many across 25 countries

Pew Research - Around half of U.S. adults (48%) have a favorable opinion of the Supreme Court – close to a three-decade low. Americans most commonly describe the court’s current ideology as conservative (47%) or “middle of the road” (44%), while just 7% see it as liberal.
