MSNBC - A passport to vote?
Voters in New Hampshire ran into problems in recent elections due to a
new requirement to present a birth certificate, passport or other proof
of citizenship. Some Republicans want to take this terrible idea
nationwide, writes voting rights lawyer Jasleen Singh.
NBC News - Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer vowed on "Meet the Press" that he won't step aside as the chamber’s top Democrat, rejecting calls from some House colleagues and liberal advocates critical of his move to help pass a Republican funding bill earlier this month.

Long ago, my father's Birth Certificate was merely labelled as "Third son born to...", and had to get his one living brother to testify that he was 'that person' for Social Security.
Not sure, but in today's world there still may be some people whose Birth Certificate may still present troubles.
