Daily Beast - A new bill was introduced this week in Mississippi that would make it
illegal for a man to masturbate or engage in other sexual acts when they
have no “intent to fertilize an embryo.” Mississippi state Sen.
Bradford Blackmon on Monday filed the "Contraception Begins at Erection Act,"
which would make it unlawful for “a person to discharge genetic
material without the intent to fertilize an embryo,” according to NBC News. The Democrat suggested in a statement
to news station WLBT that the bill was inspired by the influx of
legislative bills in recent years targeting women’s reproductive rights... The
bill proposes fines ranging from $1,000 to $10,000. It is unlikely to
pass in the Republican-dominated legislature in Mississippi, which is
one of 12 states that have total or near total abortion bans.
