Newsweek - Melania Trump has said that she does not always agree with her husband and stands on her own two feet. The incoming First Lady told Fox News on Monday that she gives her own advice to President-elect Trump, but admitted that he does not always listen to it. "I don't always agree [with] what my husband is saying or doing, and that's ok," she told host Ainsley Earhardt. "I give him my advice, and sometimes he listens, sometimes he doesn't."
Commenting on her first four years as First Lady, she added: "I just feel that people didn't accept me maybe, they didn't understand me the way maybe they do now. And I didn't have much support."
Melania did not acknowledge her differing opinions from her husband's during his first presidency.
However, she has highlighted certain beliefs that are at odds with some members of the Republican party and the incoming administration in recent months.
For example, she revealed in her memoir last year that she is supporter of abortion rights for women.
