What some Republican leaders have said in the past about Trump
Trump to Nominate Baptist Minister as Ambassador to Israel
Roll Call - Incoming Senate Republican leadership has flirted with handing over a significant portion of its power to allow President-elect Donald Trump a chance to avoid the Senate’s confirmation process entirely to staff up the administration in his second term. Ahead of Wednesday’s leadership elections, Trump and his allies have pushed the candidates to potentially allow recess appointments to his Cabinet and other positions, which experts said would cause a major shift away from the Senate’s constitutional “advice and consent” role. The Constitution’s recess appointments power allows a president to make a temporary appointment to a position that would normally require Senate confirmation while the Senate is in recess. Those recess appointments would last until the end of the upcoming session of Congress, in this case 2026.
Hartmann Report - While Trump campaigned against trans people (just like Hitler had in 1933), it looks like he has another group in mind for his first genticide. Trump has his sights on undocumented Black and Hispanic migrants to begin the state-sponsored violence and inure the American public to what will eventually come for many more of us. Get ready for midnight door-knocks by men with guns starting in January. Particularly if you or anybody in your extended family has a last name that ends with a vowel or a z, or even if you simply have black hair and brown eyes.
Trump and Thomas Homan are on the case. Homan notoriously ran ICE during the last Trump administration and is often considered, along with Stephen Miller, as the father of Trump’s brutal child separation policy that traumatized so many thousands of young families and has left about 1,000 youngsters trafficked into pop-up “Christian” adoption services missing to this day.Homan also helped write part of the immigration policies for Project 2025. And famously bragged to CBS that if he found families with “illegal” members in this country, he’d simply deport the entire family, US citizens or not.
Daily Beast - There’s been a striking trend among each of Donald Trump’s appointees that have rolled in since his election win—they’ve each shared some over-the-top praise of the president-elect. The sucking up has gone as far as suggesting Trump—who famously wears the same style jacket, shirt, and tie nearly every day—is somehow a “fashion icon” who should be added to Mt. Rushmore in South Dakota. A look at some of the brown-nosing those in Trump’s orbit have done publicly to earn favor with the soon-to-be 47th president.
NBC News -Pete Hegseth is Trump's pick for defense secretary. Hegseth is a Fox News host and military veteran. After the announcement, some Republican senators expressed surprise at the choice.
Daily Beast - Former Fox News host Gretchen Carlson said she was “stunned” Tuesday by Donald Trump’s intention to nominate Fox & Friends host Pete Hegseth as his Secretary of Defense. “From silly diner interviews on Weekend Fox and Friends to Secretary of Defense?“ Carlson wrote on X. ”I never thought I’d say I’m stunned about any pick after the election but nominating Pete Hegseth for this incredibly important role? Yes he’s a veteran … and?"
