Trump

Washington Times - His Oscar for “Raging Bull” is probably safe, but Robert De Niro’s recent political turn has cost him one major award. The National Association of Broadcasters is pulling a prize it had planned to give Mr. De Niro next week to honor his charitable and philanthropic work. The actor will not receive the NAB Leadership Foundation’s Service to America Award because of the divisive and partisan nature of comments he made this week outside the Manhattan courthouse where former President Donald Trump was being tried, the NAB said. “This event is proudly bipartisan, uniting those from across the political spectrum to celebrate the impactful work of local broadcasters and our partners,” an NAB spokesperson told The Hill in a statement.

Newsweek - YouGov conducted a "snap poll" hours after the verdict announcement to gauge whether Americans agreed with the jury's decision. The poll asked, "Donald Trump was recently convicted of 34 charges, including for falsifying business records to reimburse his lawyer for payments made to an adult film actress. Do you agree with the jury that he is guilty of these charges?" Of the 3,040 U.S. adults surveyed, 50 percent said they believed Trump was guilty, while 30 percent said they believed he was not guilty. Another 19 percent said they were not sure.

Huffington Post - Former President Donald Trump ramped up his rhetoric following his conviction in his hush money trial Thursday when he once again posted online a video in which he vowed to “liberate America” in what he described as the “final battle.” Audio from a previous Trump campaign rally was layered over footage of the presumptive GOP presidential nominee walking in the 35-second video he shared on his Truth Social platform. Trump also shared the clip in 2023. “This is the final battle,” he told supporters in the narration. “With you at my side, we will demolish the deep state. We will expel the warmongers from our government. We will drive out the globalists. We will cast out the communists, Marxists and fascists. We will throw off the sick political class that hates our country.”He concluded, “We will rout the fake news media, and we will liberate America from these villains once and for all.” The video is part of Trump’s pushback at being convicted by a jury on all 34 felony counts.

1440 - While Trump faces fines and a maximum sentence of up to four years in prison, an estimated one in 10 people convicted of similar charges is imprisoned.

Washington Post - If Donald Trump wins back the presidency, he would once again have broad pardon power — but that federal authority would not overturn his state conviction in the New York hush money trial. As president from 2017 to 2021, Trump pardoned many of his allies and friends, but those crimes involved federal charges.New York’s governor, however, could issue such a pardon, but that seems highly unlikely to happen anytime soon.Less clear is whether a sitting president could pardon himself for federal offenses — an untested area of the law that may become more critical if Trump is convicted in either of the two federal criminal cases filed against him.Trump is charged in federal court in Florida with mishandling classified documents and trying to obstruct government efforts to retrieve them; he is charged in D.C. with conspiring to obstruct the results of the 2020 election he lost.He has pleaded not guilty in both cases, and both trials have been delayed.

No realization of what he has done?

No remorse?

No possibility of being reformed!

Why are some things demanded by the judicial system from other people?
