Sam Smith - The alleged celestial thrill left me quite disappointed. I was expecting to see the sky darken at its peak but, in fact, nothing much happened. We were near Portland, Maine, where the experience was mathematically 94% complete, but it turns out 6% of sun still keeps things pretty well lit. Add to that my misguided assumption that I would see the moon move but instead it drifted so slowly that I had to leave it for awhile and then come back to see the progress. Well, at least it wasn't a political downer of which we have far too many.
