Hartmann Report - Just when you thought Republicans couldn't get any crueler, now they're forcing women to have unnecessary abdominal surgery. Seriously. This is the new GOP thing. They argue that abortions are never medically necessary, so are now forcing women with dead, dying, or deformed fetuses, instead of getting a normal surgical or medication abortion, to undergo C-sections to “birth” the non-viable fetus. As Jessica Valenti notes at her brilliant Substack newsletter Abortion Every Day: “The report details one case, for example, where a woman’s water broke 20 weeks into her pregnancy—far too early for a fetus to survive. In order to ‘preserve the appearance of not doing an abortion,’ the doctor performed a c-section.” She can no longer have a normal vaginal birth and will suffer lifelong scarring from the expensive, painful, and unnecessary surgery.

I'm confused. Isn't it fairly common for a person to have a c-section in order to 'deliver' a baby, like maybe if the mom is really a small person or something.
Well, it seems that to deliver an unviable baby using a c-section vs the other ways of having an 'abortion' is a 'difference without a distinction'.
