The Intercept  -  In January, The Intercept reported that a recently expanded protocol at CNN called “SecondEyes” requires almost all coverage on the war in Gaza be routed through the network’s Jerusalem bureau, which operates under the shadow of Israel’s military censor. Then, last Friday, we revealed that CNN journalists, including renowned international news anchor Christiane Amanpour, recently confronted network executives over what the staffers described as myriad leadership failings in coverage of Israel’s war on Gaza.  Several junior and senior CNN employees described feeling devalued, embarrassed, and disgraced by CNN’s war coverage, according to a leaked recording of a recent all-hands meeting obtained by The Intercept. The escalating internal conflict at CNN is just the latest example uncovered by The Intercept of rank-and-file reporters at mainstream news outlets rebelling against the anti-Palestinian slant of their employers.

Israel is at war. Wartime censorship rules apply.
