Axios - The share of Americans identifying as Democrats hit its lowest level since Gallup started regular polling on the topic over 30 years ago. By a growing margin, voters say they don't identify with either party.An average of 27% of adults identified as Democrats last year — down from a record 36% in 2008, according to Gallup...43% identified as independent in 2023. 27% said they identify as Republicans. The share of people who say they're Republicans has traditionally been lower than those who identify as Democrats.
