Wildfire record

Axios - This year's wildfire season more than doubled the previous record for fire-related air pollution in the U.S. The average American was exposed to 66% more air pollution than the previous record year, driven by Canada's worst wildfires ever, according to the Stanford Environmental Change and Human Outcomes Lab. Exposure to wildfire smoke can cause breathing problems, exacerbate heart disease and respiratory illness, and damage crops. It's estimated to cost the U.S. $144 billion annually in lost labor alone. MORE
